How the power rankings are built

These rankings order all 48 teams by a single power score rather than by FIFA points. The score blends squad strength, team chemistry and recent form, so a well-drilled side with a settled line-up can outrank a higher-FIFA team that is rebuilding. Reading the tiers

The field is split into four tiers. Title contenders are the top six the model gives a realistic path to the final; dark horses are the next group capable of a deep run; the competitive tier can win a group or spring a round-of-32 upset; underdogs are along for the experience of a first or rare appearance. The tiers make the shape of the tournament legible at a glance.

Favourites vs FIFA ranking

Where the power rank and the FIFA rank disagree is exactly where the interesting reads live. A green arrow means the model rates a team higher than its FIFA points suggest — a side trending up. A red arrow means the opposite. Those gaps are the early signal for value picks and likely group-stage surprises before the markets fully adjust.
